Bourgogne Aligoté Les Chagniots

Les Chagniots 2017 is the first release from Chanterêves' own vineyard. Les Chagniots is situated between Ladoix and Corgoloin. It is a small parcel of 0.17 ha. We farm organic without certification. As far as spraying goes, minimal copper is used for Downy Mildew, low-fat milk for Powdery Mildew, but no sulfur is applied.

The vineyard is ploughed by horse by Pierre Seuillot, who is a master in his field. He specialised in horse ploughing at Leflaive before setting up his small company and now ploughs for many prominent producers in the region.

The wine exhibits energy, stoniness, and minerality, presenting a fresh and vibrant profile. (by Chanterêves)



Tomoko Kuriyama and Guillaume Bott, the founders of the micro-négoce maison de vin 'Chanterêves', have released nine vintages (2010-2018) and established a strong market position. Today, older vintages such as '10, '11, '12, and '13 have proven their ability to age and demonstrate authenticity, and newer vintages '14 and '15 indicate a clearer alignment with their direction and the natural wine movement much clearer, and they have expanded their lineup in 2016 - 2017 including "domaine" wine. Today, Chanterêves is well recognized as one of the new-classics in Burgundy. Conversely, they appear to liberate themselves from the limitations imposed by regional traditions in winemaking. They source high-quality grapes from outside Côte d'Or and create exceptional 'Vin de France' using a challenging non-intervention approach and named "L'Intrus".

They work with growers closely to obtain ideal grapes(they also work in vineyards), and using biologically farmed grapes preferentially. Wine-making has carried out naturally as much as possible under non-interventional manner. Fermented by indigenous yeasts, new barrels are not used for white wine at all. There is no gimmick or makeup. These natural wines are supported by high-quality grapes and their artisanal spirit with sophisticated skills.
