The 'Magma' Rosso is an absolutely incredible expression of Nerello Mascalese, which comes from ungrafted old vines, over 100+ years in age and only produced in optimal vintages. The 2014 simply dazzling wine opens with an array of exotic aromatics including sweet cherries and ripe strawberries woven together with smoke, violets, wet stones, crushed volcanic rock, fresh tarragon, raspberry cordial and orange zest. [Double Magnum 3000ml] Grecanico Dorato(50%) and Carricante(50%) from 40+ years old vines from the vineyards of Calderara, Borriglione, Crasà and Picciolo which are located between 620 and 750m. The skin contact gives complexity and dense to the wine. A rich and fragrant wine of pure Nerello Mascalese from different vineyards, partly from our best parcels(Chiusa Spagnolo, Monte Colla, Porcaria, Barbabecchi) as well as designated vineyards for this specific wine(Rampante, Piano Daini and Crasà). A classic, traditional Nerello Mascalese with tannins and sweetness of ripe fruit. This wine embodies traditional, balanced and rich Northern Valley Etna wine. This is 100% Nerello Mascalese from 60+ year old vines, and comes from a variety of different crus including Chiusa Spagnolo, Monte Colla, Porcaria, Barbabecchi, as well as other designated vineyards (Rampante, Piano Daini and Crasà). It has a gorgeous nose with aromas of dark cherries and raspberries woven together with dried herb, crushed stones, and fresh cut flowers. This is elegant and focused, with a vibrant core of fresh red fruit and mineral streaks across the palate. All of the beautiful flavors come together seamlessly in the vivid finish. IWR91
